I love going to all the bars and clubs in the Austin area. I live for checking them out to find that perfect night club or to find my favorite place to go after work for a drink. I am going to tell you my favorite places to go for all occasions.

When I get off of work me and the girls like to go to our favorite after work bar. Our favorite place to go to is Third Base Bar and Restaurant. They have great happy hour specials that run from 4pm to 8pm, and on Mondays they have half price pitchers all day.

For a night of dancing you will want to make sure to check out Dallas Nightclub. Wednesdays seem to be the most poplar night to go. You will find young professionals as well as students. The long necks of beer and most any bar drink is only sixty nine cents, and that is a deal you can’t beat! If you decide to go on a Wednesday make sure to get there early as Wednesday nights are always packed.

History Comes To Life At Area Museums

Austin is a city with a rich cultural past, preserved and brought to life at area museums. Take a day trip into the founding of Texas at The Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum. The three story museum chronicles the history of Texas through fully interactive exhibits, including a 35-foot tall I-max film “Texas: The Big Picture” . The museum is open Monday through Saturday from 9am to 6pm, and Noon-6pm on Sunday with extended hours in the Imax theater. In 2011, admission was 7 for adults and 4 for school age children. The Lyndon Baines Johnson Library and Museum, located on the University of Texas- Austin, campus houses the largest body of historical materials preserved from Mr. Johnson’s presidential career. The museum is open daily from 9am to 5pm and is free to the public. Finally, for those interested in military history, The Texas Military Forces Museum is not to be overlooked. The 45,000 square foot museum contains historical evidence and interactive displays beginning at the time of the Texas revolution and documenting through the current War on Terror. Displays include Tanks, aircraft, personal items carried by Texan soldiers and much more. The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10am to 4pm, and offers free admission.
