Austin’s a great place to live and there are tons of different neighborhoods to consider. Once you decide to move to the Weird City you’ve got to consider the following – don’t get surprised once you start looking:
School Districting: Districting here in Austin can be just as weird as anything else so you need to check before you look if you’re worried about your child attending a specific school in the area.
Safety: Austin is generally a very safe, family friendly place but if you choose wrong you could find yourself in a neighborhood that’s more transitional than you bargained for. If you find yourself having doubts look into securitychoice.com for the area and see about putting up a fence in the yard. There are few parts of Austin that are truly unsafe.
Think Walkabel: Surprising for a city its size, Austin has several imminently walkable areas. If you want to set out on foot to the grocery store or the Blockbuster choose your home correctly – you can get away with using your car less here than you might think.

When it comes to buying verses renting some are confused. There are benefits and risks with each; however, if you choose to rent a home, there are many advantages and plus factors such as having more space with a rented home. When you rent a home you have outside space as well as inside space. Then, there is parking. If you are new to Austin, then you probably don’t know that the area has 1.2 million residents and is probably going to touch the 2 million mark ten years from now. This is a city where individuality is nurtured, so you won’t find Austin to be another cookie cutter town where you need to check every hour where you live.
This is a city that dishes out a lot of inspiration – remember Michael Dell, a university dropout who started Dell computers? This is also home to David Ansel who delivers homemade soup to his neighbors – he quit his software job to set up The Soup Peddler.”
The city named after Stephen F Austin has a unique psyche its parks, trails, lakes and greenbelts are the places where the people move seamlessly from their indoor spaces, to relax and chill out.
When looking for apartments in Austin, it is better to look for one with an option of a covered parking. The weather can get really hot here and there are storms from time to time. If you look at some of older neighborhood, you may not get all amenities like swimming pools and gated communities – although you will get a lot of the old world charm.
If you have pets, you will need to pay for keeping them in your apartments. There are three kinds of payments for pets – pet deposits, pet fees and monthly pet rent. Some apartments charge a combination of these charges.
Apartments also come with a different rent for different floors – normally the higher the floor, the lower the rent, unless of course the outside view is something which justifies higher rent. When looking for apartments in Austin, talk to the people in the neighborhood – they are friendly and will be happy to give their opinion about the neighborhood.
